A layout is an arrangement of camera items placed on the Viewing Grid. Up to 64 items can be contained in a layout. Each layout is displayed in a separate tab, so multiple layouts can be open at once.

A layout must be saved after it is created, otherwise it will only be available during the session in which it was created.

Typically layouts are created and configured by the System Owner or Administrator and then assigned to User Roles or individuals. Depending on their access rights, users can create their own layouts from the cameras available to them.

In a multi-server System, changes to a shared layout are propagated immediately to all machines and users who share that layout (see "Opening and Closing a Layout").

It is also possible to create an Alarm Layout, that opens as an action when a specific event occurs (see "Showing Cameras on Alarm Layout").
